Fury Warrior
A dual-wielding berserker that ramps up with crits, delivering relentless sustained damage in raids.
How It Feels to Play
Fury is the Warrior's PvE bread and butter. You dual-wield weapons, stack crit, and once you get rolling with Flurry procs and Rampage stacks, you're a whirlwind of sustained damage. The spec rewards aggressive play: the more you crit, the faster you attack, the more rage you generate, the more abilities you use. It's a snowball effect that feels incredible when it's working.
The flip side is that Fury Warriors are deeply gear-dependent. In pre-raid blues, you'll feel like you're hitting bosses with pool noodles compared to a well-geared Warlock or Hunter. Your hit rating is probably too low, your crits aren't frequent enough to keep Flurry up, and your rage generation is inconsistent. But as your gear improves, each upgrade feels tangible. Fury Warriors scale harder with gear than almost any other spec in the game.
Your rotation is busy: Bloodthirst on cooldown, Whirlwind on cooldown, Heroic Strike when you have excess rage, and keeping Battle Shout up. You're also juggling stances if you need to Intercept or use Berserker Rage for fear immunity. It's a lot of plates spinning, but that's what makes it engaging.
Strengths
- Excellent sustained single-target DPS that scales incredibly with gear
- Very active and engaging rotation
- Strong execute phase damage below 20% boss health
Pain Points
- Extremely gear-dependent; feels weak in early gear
- Must reach hit cap to feel functional
- Melee unfriendly mechanics in many TBC raids
Demand & Supply
Solid melee DPS that scales incredibly well with gear, but TBC's melee-unfriendly raid design and competition from other melee specs means you're not as dominant as in Classic. Most raids bring 1-2 Fury Warriors.
Talent Build
Standard Fury DPS
17/44/0The standard raid build for Fury Warriors. You go 17 points into Arms for Enrage and Improved Slam access, then 44 deep into Fury for Rampage. Flurry uptime is critical. Every crit gives you 3 fast attacks, which generate more rage, which fund more abilities. Keep Rampage stacks up at all times.
Stat Priority
Hit cap is your absolute first priority. Missing attacks means missing rage and missing Flurry procs. After hit cap, Expertise prevents dodges and parries. Crit is king for Fury because Flurry procs and Rampage both require crits.
