Shaman
Shamans are versatile hybrid casters who channel the elements for damage, healing, and powerful group buffs through their unique Totem system. In TBC, Draenei Shamans bring this class to the Alliance for the first time. Shamans are always in demand thanks to their incredible totems and Bloodlust/Heroism.
How It Feels to Play
Playing a Shaman in TBC is about being the ultimate force multiplier. Your personal DPS or healing might not top the charts, but the value you bring through totems and Bloodlust/Heroism is incalculable. Windfury Totem makes melee DPS hit like trucks. Mana Spring Totem keeps your casters going. Wrath of Air Totem boosts spell damage. You make everyone around you significantly better.
Bloodlust (Horde) / Heroism (Alliance) is THE cooldown. A 30% haste buff for your entire party for 40 seconds. It's so powerful that raid compositions are sometimes built around having enough Shamans to Bloodlust every group. This single ability guarantees Shamans a place in every raid.
The totem system is unique and adds a layer of management that no other class deals with. You're constantly dropping totems — one for each element — and they stay where you put them, so you need to redrop them if the group moves. It's extra work, but the payoff is massive. A Shaman who keeps their totems up and uses Bloodlust at the right time is worth their weight in gold.
